Dining Class

Relax in the comfort of our classic railcar as you indulge in a memorable meal at classy dining tables with comfortable free standing dining chairs. For those looking to enhance their experience, a selection of alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase on board.
Dome Class
The newest member of our fleet is the "Silver Palace" — a Vista-Dome class car built by the Budd Company in 1948, which originally ran on the Western Pacific Railroad's California Zephyr passenger route from Salt Lake City, Utah to Oakland, California. In 2025, the Virginia Scenic Railway comprehensively upgraded and modernized the car, renaming her "Shenandoah" in homage to the legendary Valley in which she runs.
Upper Level
Adults Only (21+) – $110.00
Admire panoramic Shenandoah Valley views from the top level of our newly refurbished Vista-Dome car. Elevated above the main level, these seats are only sold in pairs or groups. Relax in comfortable seating designed for an immersive scenic experience, with a mid-ride seat rotation ensuring you always face forward for the best views. Whether you're traveling with family or friends, this class of seating provides a unique and memorable way to enjoy your journey in style.
Boxed meals are available for pre-order when making your reservation. Wine and beer are available for purchase on the train.
Cafe Dining
Adults Only (21+) – $90.00
In the dome car on the main level, this adults-only casual dining area offers private tables that can accommodate up to four people. A walk-up bar is located nearby that sells wine and craft beer.
